I consider myself an up and coming novice photographer. I ventured away from the point & shoot camera world into the digital SLR world when I purchased my Canon 40D about two years ago. I used it mainly for automotive photography, taking pictures of my own car along with those of my close friends. With an important car show coming up that my team would attend, I thought it’d be important to capture the moments of this show with the best lens possible.
I reached out to close photographer friends to borrow a Canon L lens for the weekend but was unsuccessful. I was specifically looking for a zoom lens capable of capturing fast paced drifting and good candid pictures of people from afar. The Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS was my lens of choice based upon great reviews from The Digital Picture http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-70-200mm-f-2.8-L-IS-USM-Lens-Review.aspx.
